Most people do that, but aren't up front about it. Don't believe everything you read, online or in books. And don't believe everything you're told. Marie Antoinette never said "Let them eat cake" but hundreds of sources over hundreds of years claimed she did. History teachers told their students she did. But we now know the quote was actually originally attributed to someone else and there is no documentation linking it to Marie Antoinette. There are millions of other "facts" just like that floating around that aren't true or verified.
